We serve Omakase by renowned Kaiseki chef Masami Okamoto. Okamoto-san, born in Hokkaido, has held various executive chef positions in 5 star hotels all over the world, opening up several Japanese restaurants worldwide. Okamoto-san also served as a private chef for two Japanese Ambassadors in Jarkarta, Indonesia. Hokkaido is a place in Japan known as a top source for quality seafood, Chef Okamoto-san has built an impressive passion for the Japanese cuisine.

In between the courses lies chef Okamoto-san’s skill presenting the traditional Japanese cuisine known as "Kaiseki". With ingredients sourced both domestically and from abroad, the chef crafts a very special tasting menu embedded in the style of Edomae sushi. Chef Okamoto-san is a strong believer in authenticity and creativity.

The Omakase modus-operandi changes daily based on what exclusive sea-food intermediaries have been hand picked or wild caught that ultimately meet our criteria.

All wildly sourced products are brought to us daily with an emphasis on only the best quality both international and if available local.

SHIN is an Omakase only restaurant, our Omakase menu comprises 16 courses. The price of our Omakase is CHF 350.-- (VAT included) per person, not included are beverages and service charge. The dress code is smart casual.

4worldlovers: Our head chef Kenichi Arimura has been blessing our kitchen since February of this year with his culinary masterpieces.

He grew up in Kagoshima, Japan and started his work history around various Ryokans - traditional japanese guesthouse. There, he prepared Kaiseki dishes which his later global experiences based on - he began to focus on Omakase. In the 00’s he started to work in Switzerland and has proudly earned two Michelin stars in his former workplaces.

We truly believe in quality over quantity. By using various traditional techniques, we bring out the different flavours which results in the peak taste of umami. Our Edo style Omakase is a harmonious sequence of traditional dishes. The focus is on classic nigiri sushi and kaiseki dishes.

Omakase means ‘I leave it up to you’. Meaning, the chef will decide what will be served depending on the season and availability. The courses are prepared in front of you and explained by the chef.

Our dinner menu consists of traditional dishes with a hint of modern interpretation.
