Really delicious and very fresh Ethiopian cuisine. We ordered the vegetarian (actually vegan too!) plate and were super impressed with every dish. The injera is made from pure Teff flour and is gluten-free. Nutritious food that leaves you filling satisfied but without that heavy feeling. Can’t wait to come back to enjoy more! Thanks for the warm and friendly service too.

Been here twice and will go again! Amazing food, very friendly owners. Sadly not so busy like the restaurants in more popular area, but this also has its charm.

Our establishment specializes in a diverse range of Ethiopian dishes, snacks, and drinks, which we make available at events and in our pop-up Ethiopian restaurant location.

Haile’s Taste of Ethiopia has been introducing delicious Ethiopian food and drinks to Switzerland for over a decade. While usually serving delicacies at summer festivals, our alter ego has made its first appearance at The Alehouse – Palmhof in 2017 for an Ethiopian inspired weekend.

Ever since, Haile’s Taste of Ethiopia transformed the menu at the The Alehouse – Palmhof for a couple of weeks every summer. Offering a wide variety of Ethiopian food and drinks.


In 2023 we’re back! From July 19 to August 6 we are serving Ethiopian food and drinks at The Alehouse – Palmhof and beyond – as you can also place takeout orders directly through the restaurant or through our delivery partners Smood.ch and Eat.ch.

I came in here at around 1 pm and the restaurant was empty - I could really enjoy my meal alone but I was surprised. The food is amazing and filling, the presentation is fun and a fully sensory experience. The staff was very friendly and I got my food really fast. I will definitely tell other people about this place :))

What a lovely place! It was our first time eating Eritrean food and I’m really glad we tried it! The restaurant is small and cozy, the staff is very friendly and helpful. We ordered a vegan plate for 2 people and every single part of it was delicious. Really recommend!
